Monsoon storms are finally giving crews fighting the White Sage and Dragon Bravo Fires a nice advantage. That’s according to Tiffany Davila, spokesperson for the division of forest and fire management.

"They had predicted early on, that we were going to see this robust monsoon season, and up until this point, it’s kind of been a dud,” Davila said. “But yeah, the increased moisture and the increased relative humidity levels have definitely helped slow down fire activity."

Davila says the monsoon moisture is also allowing crews to get a jump on any new fire starts. So far, she says those fires have been relatively small, at an acre here and there.
