Tucson's mayor and council passed a motion to cover work-related adenocarcinoma cancer claims for firefighters, fire investigators and peace officers under Arizona law, during Tuesday’s study session.
Adenocarcinoma is a type of cancer that starts in the glands that line the inside of organs.
The motion was passed for workers’ compensation purposes, instructing the city Manager and city attorney to proceed with legal strategy for existing claims.
