Emergency operations continue in the city of Globe where flash flooding caused heavy damage and at least two deaths. Gov. Katie Hobbs issued a state of emergency for Gila County.
The declaration provides support for search and rescue operations and directs state resources to cleanup and recovery. Several local agencies are helping out, including the Arizona Department of Public Safety and Arizona Department of Transportation.

Hobbs also authorized the deployment of the Arizona National Guard and says resources will come from California and Nevada as well.
She expressed sympathy with the community impacted.
“My heart is with all of these Arizonans, people who lost loved ones, people looking for family members and friends, people who had to leave their homes in a hurry, people whose businesses were inundated by floodwaters,” she said.
Gabe Lavine, state emergency management director, says support comes from personnel at all levels of government.
“This incident is locally led, state managed, and federally supported, demonstrating the whole of government approach to emergency management and service to our community," he said.
The city of Globe continues to release information on the ongoing situation including details on restrictions.
