Meet the 2 finalists for Flagstaff's next city manager

Flagstaff, Arizona.

The city of Flagstaff is holding a meet and greet for residents to learn about the two finalist candidates for Flagstaff's next city manager.

The candidate introductions and a question and answer session will be streamed at Flagstaff's YouTube stream 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Flagstaff City Hall, 211 W. Aspen Ave.

The city received 34 applications for the position after the current manager, Greg Clifton, announced his retirement.

The two candidates are:

Joanne Keene, 25 years of public service leadership experience and holds a master of public administration and a bachelor of arts in English/broadcast journalism from Northern Arizona University. She is currently the deputy city manager of the city of Flagstaff. She also worked as deputy city manager for the city of Sedona, deputy county manager for Coconino County and executive vice president for Northern Arizona University.

Doug Schulze, served as a local government manager for 36 years and holds a master of arts in urban and regional studies and a bachelor of public administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He previously worked as the city manager of the towns of Banning, California, Bainbridge Island, Washington, Normandy Park, Washington, and Medina, Washington.
