Another person has died from injuries sustained during a fire in Hermosillo last weekend — bringing the death toll to 24, including six children.
The latest victim of the deadly fire at a store in the center of Hermosillo is 81-year-old Marco Segundo Reyes.
Segundo Reyes was hospitalized in critical condition in Hermosillo after Saturday’s fire. He died from complications related to burns that covered much of his body.
On social media, Sonora Gov. Alfonso Durazo Thursday expressed his support for Segundo Reyes’ family and reiterated his commitment to investigating the causes of the fire, which investigators say seems to have been related to a transformer located inside the building.
