Developers push to close proposed Project Blue data center land deal by Christmas

The developers of Project Blue, a prospective data center in Pima County, are looking to close the deal for the 290-acre county-owned property near the Pima County Fairgrounds.

A memo from County Administrator Jan Lesher states that the deal must close on or before Christmas.

Humphrey’s Peak Properties, the prospective buyer of the property, is also opting to waive three closing conditions in order to move forward with the deal, including requirements that the land be annexed by the city of Tucson, zoning and the guarantee of necessary utilities to operate the facility, such as power, water and discharge services.
