Multiple water line breaks continue to plague parts of the South Rim at Grand Canyon National Park.
It’s unclear why the water line broke, but it means Phantom Ranch, which sits at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, is closed until Jan. 24.
Phantom Ranch is the only lodging available below the rim of the Grand Canyon and reservations are only available through a lottery system.
Water has also been shut off at the Phantom Ranch Canteen, Boat Beach, the Delta Restroom and Bright Angel Campground.
Crews have excavated the damaged sections of pipe and are fitting new pipe.
The South Rim of the park is also under Stage-2 water restrictions and visitors are urged to reduce their water consumption by taking shorter showers, reducing toilet flushes and turning off the sink while brushing their teeth or shaving.
