A student from Northern Arizona University died Saturday following a rush event affiliated with the Delta Tau Delta fraternity.
Flagstaff police say officers found an 18-year-old male unresponsive at an off-campus residence. Despite initiating CPR on the individual, he was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the Flagstaff Police Department, the deceased individual had been consuming alcohol alongside other pledge candidates.
The department says three students associated with the fraternity were arrested and taken to a detention facility and will face a hazing charge. NAU placed an interim suspension on the fraternity.
The university says it's mourning the death of the student, whose name was not immediately released.
