The Mexican state of Sonora, south of Arizona, is preparing for the possibility of more flooding after downpours caused damage in the border community of Nogales late last week and over the weekend.
The state of Sonora has set up temporary shelters in each of its municipalities in preparation for the ongoing rainy season.
The list of 144 shelter locations includes the municipal gym in Nogales, Sonora, where cleanup has continued after major flooding in much of the city. At least one person died during the flooding late last week.
Search crews also pulled three bodies from the water on the Arizona side of the border city, which have not been identified. Officials believe they originated on the Mexican side of the border and were carried across by the flooding.
