KBACH (KBAQ) 89.5 FMis hiring a dynamic, full time on-air host and skilled music programmer who is passionate about sharing classical music with the Phoenix metro area in a friendly, engaging manner. The successful candidate will have experience in scheduling and presenting classical music with a broad audience in mind.

KBACH is a listener-supported public radio station broadcasting to the Phoenix metropolitan area. KBACH is the only radio station in Phoenix that plays classical music 24/7, reaching listeners around the world who stream KBACH online.

Essential functions

40% - Hosts live and recorded air shifts, which requires excellent broadcast quality on-air presentation.
30% - Schedules music for the station requiring deep knowledge of genre and ability to manage complex industry standards for audio use and rotation.
20% - Produces content across two formats requiring understanding of broadcast and music, using digital editing software.
10% - Represents the station at concerts and community events and fundraising. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or directly related field and two years of broadcast production experience.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired qualifications:

1. Three years of experience hosting radio air shifts.
2. Three years of experience producing content for air using digital editing software.
3. Two years of experience scheduling genre related music using industry-scheduling software (ex: Music Master).
4. One year of experience representing a radio station at concerts and community events.
5. One year of Full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two years.
