Northern Arizona is set for plenty of monsoon activity over the next week.

A monsoon pattern is expected for northern Arizona over the next five to seven days. The National Weather Service is forecasting thunderstorms for almost every day. The deserts can expect a lesser chance of storms.

National Weather Service meteorologist Brian Klimowski urges people in northern Arizona to take note of the potential for runoff and washed out roads in areas that have been affected by wildfires.

"Any areas which are near or downstream from recent burn scar should be especially conscious of the weather or any heavy rain or any flash flood warnings that are issued for those areas," said Klimowski.

Klimowski also said almost any thunderstorm can cause strong winds.
