Arizona’s junior senator, Mark Kelly, says he is supporting President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign.
In an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, Kelly said he still supports the Biden-Harris ticket amid differing views among Democrats on Capitol Hill. Arizona Congressmen Greg Stanton and Raúl Grijalva have called for Biden to step down.
"We have an election in 110 days and we've got to be focused on that. We’ve got to make sure that we work as hard as possible, not make any mistakes here, and if we do that, I’m confident that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris can be reelected," Kelly said.
He also called for the cooling of political rhetoric following the Trump assassination attempt. Kelly’s wife, former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, was shot while meeting with constituents in 2011.
