Valley residents need to pack an umbrella over the course of the week as we may see some rainy weather. The National Weather Service says a chance for storms will come into the lower desert region on Monday.
“Through the first half of the week, we’ll be still around that 20-30% chance. In lower deserts, it’s gonna remain higher in the higher elevations upwards of 50-60% chance once you get northeast of Phoenix," said Sean Benedict, a meteorologist with the agency.
Benedict says temperatures will remain fairly hot and still hover at around 110 degrees throughout the week. He attributes the hot conditions to the high pressure over the area.
