Vitalant calls for blood donations during critical Arizona shortage

Jean Clare Sarmiento/KJZZ

Nonprofit Vitalant seeks help in addressing a blood shortage. The organization made a call to action encouraging eligible donors to provide blood.

The blood organization says the need for type-O blood remains critical. O-negative blood can help any patient while O-positive blood can help those with A-positive, B-positive, AB-positive or O-positive blood.

Public blood drives will take place across Tempe, including the Arizona State University campus.

Appointments can be made via the web, phone, or Vitalant app.
