Coyote being blamed for death of 2 small dogs in Sun City home

Coyotes are being seen in urban area

A coyote broke into a Sun City home through a screened-in porch, later killing two small dogs. Alex Flickinger, a public affairs community liaison with Arizona Game and Fish, says that pets in an enclosed area are an easy food source.

Flickinger's advice for humans dealing with coyotes is to try and scare them off.

“Yell at them, maybe throw some rocks at them, wave your arms," Flickinger said. "Some people feel more comfortable with a walking stick when they’re out walking their dogs, and they know that these animals live around their neighborhood."

Coyotes can become dangerous if they get used to humans, as Flickinger says they are naturally curious animals.
