The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says a juvenile has been charged in the recent death of a 6-month-old infant.
Officials say that while the baby’s mother was at work, the neighbor she left her baby with was allegedly supposed to drop the child off with its father.
But roughly six hours later, both parents realized the 6-month-old was missing.
When the baby was ultimately found, after hours in direct sunlight, 911 was called. But arriving firefighters and deputies confirmed the infant’s death immediately.
According to law enforcement, a juvenile neighbor was arrested and charged with negligent homicide, but no further details are available.
