Storm activity and wind gusts of at least 35 miles per hour are expected later Tuesday for much of the Valley. The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a blowing dust advisory from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. over portions of the greater Phoenix area.
National Weather Service meteorologist Austin Jamison says storms may continue through the week but it’s less likely.
“We’re looking at more like 20% chance for the greater Phoenix area of storms for tomorrow afternoon and evening, versus 40% or 50% for this late afternoon and evening," Jamison said.
He also says it’s unclear if there will be any significant rainfall in the Valley.
Here's the thunderstorm outlook for tomorrow. Scattered showers and storms are likely across the area. The main threats with these storms will be strong to severe wind gusts of 40-60 mph, areas of dense blowing dust, localized heavy downpours, and frequent lightning. #azwx #cawx pic.twitter.com/DDSD4I6s91
