A 25-year-old woman was found shot to death more than 40 years ago near Hoover Dam, and investigators are asking for the public’s help in solving her murder.
Marion Ouma’s body was found with gunshot wounds three weeks after she was last seen alive in 1978. Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Anita Mortensen says the special investigations unit has seen success in some cold cases after asking the public for help.
"We’ve actually put out a couple cold cases, homicides, missing persons and unidentified deceased victims over the last few years, and there have been a couple of our cold cases that have been solved by our SIU detectives," Mortensen said.
The SIU detectives are also asking about a 1976 or 1977 powder blue Chevy Blazer or Ford Bronco that was seen in the area on the evening of the murder.
You can contact the Sheriff's Office at 928-753-0753 ext. 4408 and reference DR# 79-022.
