Employers in Chandler have a new way to reach local job seekers. The city has launched an online platform designed to connect companies and residents.
The site, chandlercareercenter.com, is designed to help employers in key industries find talent and help job seekers find openings and educational resources to boost their employability.
Micah Miranda, Chandler’s economic development director, says the site is dedicated to specific employment clusters.
"Aerospace, aviation, health care, bioscience, advanced manufacturing, advanced business services. So we're not trying to be everything to everybody. Our platform is really 100% aligned with our long-term economic development strategy," Miranda said.
The launch is focused on Chandler’s advanced manufacturing sector with plans to add others.
“It's strictly specific to Chandler,” Miranda said. “We're emphasizing Chandler businesses to help with their hiring. So it's really a microlevel platform to assist the Chandler community. There's really nothing out there that is community specific like this.
He said the platform will also include internships and apprenticeships.
“And that's something that we're hearing from our local employers that they need to start accessing talent earlier. So, that's why we're also working with CUSD [Chandler Unified School District] to get their students onboarded," Miranda said.

Phoenix has a reputation, fair or not, of a boom town where old buildings often get demolished. Hit songs were recorded in midtown decades ago. In the 1960s, that success led to construction of what was once the top studio between Dallas and LA.
