Pinal County residents seeing increase in voter spam texts

Pinal County election officials say they’re getting reports of people receiving unsolicited text messages, claiming the recipients are not registered to vote.

The texts provide a link telling the recipient to click on it to register, and they are being sent regardless of whether the recipient is already registered to vote.

The Pinal County Recorder's Office strongly suggests recipients delete the messages and not click on any links or engage with the texts.

Residents can check their voter registration or register to vote, by visiting my.arizona.vote.

People can also sign up by mail or in person.

The deadline to register to vote in Arizona for the November general election is Monday, Oct. 7.
