Over 17 million people are expected to be screened by the Transportation Security Administration this Labor Day weekend. That means the TSA must work closely with other people and entities to ensure safe travels.
Sky Harbor International Airport expects a 6% to 8% increase over the federal holiday.
The TSA conducts business as usual when it comes to travelers going through the airport. Patricia Mancha is a spokesperson for the agency.
“We want to make sure that travelers are heard and listened to every day of the year. We maybe have extra personnel on hand, but as far as what we do, we pretty much do the same thing every day," she said.
Sky Harbor recommends for travelers to arrive two hours early for domestic flights and three hours ahead for international flights.
