Beginning this month, Tucsonans will have the chance to weigh in on a proposed city planning document that’s slated to go into effect in the coming years.

Officials are asking members of the public to take part in a series of virtual and in-person meetings about Plan Tucson 2025, which outlines proposals for things like city investment, neighborhood development and community engagement. Local officials have been working with community members and organizations to draft it since the beginning of 2023 — that's when the old Plan Tucson, crafted in 2013, had run its course.

An official draft of the new plan is expected to be released in the coming days. The meetings will take place over the next few months and ask community members to provide feedback about existing conditions in neighborhoods, future goals, and any revisions they have.

The first in-person meeting is in Tucson on Sept. 24.
