A California man was recently sentenced to prison for his part in a monthslong organized retail theft scheme in Arizona.
Bay Horn pleaded guilty to two felonies for his part in a $26,000 scheme last spring.
He and others would steal items from T.J.Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods locations, then bring them back in for a fake refund.
Last week, an Arizona judge sentenced him to just over two years in prison followed by four years of probation. That’s in addition to orders to pay restitution to the tune of roughly $11,000.
In a statement, Attorney General Kris Mayes emphasized low tolerance for organized retail theft and promised serious penalties for those who defraud businesses, which she argued ultimately harms consumers.
