More charging stations are coming for Valley drivers who own electric vehicles.

The number of charging stations will increase thanks to a large award provided by a program under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

The Maricopa County Air Quality Department will receive $15 million to install these stations.

An increase in the charging stations would serve those facilities in the Maricopa County Travel Reduction Program.

Sens. Mark Kelly and Kyrsten Sinema praised the investment decisions.

The project seeks to increase accessibility to electric vehicle charging stations through an education outreach program and community meetings.

According to the city, there are 1,065 publicly accessible electric vehicle charging stations across the state as of July 2023.
