The Chandler City Council has approved the purchase of 10 ambulances for the Chandler Fire Department.
The purchase marks the first step toward Chandler implementing a city-run emergency ambulance system in the future.
Chandler’s City Council held a work session last month to discuss transitioning to a municipal emergency ambulance system. There are a dozen jurisdictions in the Valley that have already done so, including every one that surrounds Chandler. One ambulance will be delivered next fall.
The remaining will arrive in 2026, and will support the launch of a city-run emergency ambulance service in January 2027.
