Hank the Ballpark Pup, who was the unofficial mascot of the Milwaukee Brewers, has died. Hank arrived at the team’s spring training facility in Maryvale as a stray.

When Hank first arrived at the Maryvale training facility in 2014, attempts were made to find Hank’s home, but nobody came for him. A team executive decided to adopt him.

Hank eventually became a team fixture, appearing in major media outlets and during games.

“We just, you know, we did some fun things with him where he was a dog that had this really infectious personality. He loved interacting with people," Brewers’ Senior Vice President Tyler Barnes said.

Besides supporting his fellow teammates on game days, Hank was brought out to support adoption events with the Arizona and Wisconsin animal humane societies.

Barnes remembers Hank being incredibly friendly when he first arrived at the facility.

“Really cute little guy, very fluffy and just, we had a blast with him and people really, they loved him down here as much as they loved him back in Wisconsin," he said.

Barnes says that the Brewers did not find Hank. Instead, Hank found them, and he will be missed.
