A sunny day in metro Phoenix on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

The official first day of fall was Sunday, but it's still really hot in Phoenix — and the summer was another brutal one.

The National Weather Service forecast shows the temperature could hit close to 110 degrees by the end of the week.

This summer saw a big heat record broken: the longest stretch of triple-digit days in Phoenix history. It was more than 100 degrees every day from May 27 to Sept. 16 — that's 113 days in a row.

The previous record for the longest continuous stretch of triple-digit high temperatures was 76 days, set in 1993.

Here's a look back at exactly how hot it was every day during summer 2024.

The Valley saw record-setting heat for most of the summer last year, as well. It was especially toasty in July, when for the first time Phoenix — or any major U.S. city — had a monthly average temperature above 100 degrees. Temperatures soared to 110+ degrees for a record 31 straight days from June 30 to July 30.

Here's a look at how summer daily temperatures in 2023 compared to summer 2024.
