Falcon Field is located on McKellips Road off of Greenfield Road in north Mesa.

A 12-year-old child was among the five people killed Tuesday in Mesa when a single-engine aircraft crashed into a vehicle shortly after take-off from Falcon Field.

The pilot, co-pilot and two plane passengers died. The driver of the vehicle was also killed. One person on the plane survived and was hospitalized with burn injuries.

Marrisa Ramirez-Ramos with Mesa Fire says the FAA, National Transportation Safety Board and Mesa police are investigating.

"Obviously the investigation is going to take a while, at this point the NTSB will take over updates," she said.

Greenfield Road is expected to be closed between McDowell and McKellips roads for most of the day Wednesday.

The following people died at the scene:

  • Spencer Lindahl, age 43
  • Rustin Randall, age 48
  • Drew Kimball, age 44
  • Graham Kimball, age 12

Officials are not releasing the name of the driver pending official confirmation of identity.
