The high country has been getting snow since mid-October, and now Arizona Snowbowl is set to open its slopes to visitors Friday.
Snowbowl’s 2024-25 ski season is opening two weeks ahead of schedule in what the park says this is its earliest-ever opening day.
Several snow storms and new snow made by the resort bumped up the schedule. Last year’s season was its longest, operating from mid-November through June first this year.
Snowbowl says it is opening a new chairlift that can hold four people to replace an older double chairlift dating back to the 1960’s. Four new ski trails will also debut, which the resort says will expand terrain for beginners.
Weather is expected to be clear, with highs in the low 40’s this weekend, though Sunday may be partly cloudy.
