Arizona Snowbowl is now open for the public to ski.

The early opening came about as a result of weather conditions and artificial snow, according to Angie Grubb, the Arizona Snowbowl marketing manager.

“We started to finally have those cooler temps back towards mid-October. Our snow-making team was able to fire up those snow-making machines back on Oct. 18 and they’ve been really able to push out some quality snow since that time," she said.

She says they also got 28 inches of real snow that helped them open Friday.

Grubb says terrain is only available for advanced skiers. However, the team is working to open more terrain for intermediate and beginner skiers.

“Yeah, conditions are incredible at Arizona Snowbowl. This is truly, I would say, one of our best openings ever. We currently have seven trails open, which is really exciting," she said.

Last year's season was the longest ever, running Nov. 17, 2023, to June 1, 2024.
