On Wednesday, Palo Verde Generating Station will be testing outdoor warning sirens in a 10-mile radius of the power plant.
The sirens will run for 3 minutes at noon and again 30 minutes later.
The nuclear power plant is about 45 miles west of downtown Phoenix.
People who live in the test area and who are opted into receiving alerts on their phones will also get a message saying it is a test and that no action is required.
