Another case of avian flu has been detected in the state, this time in a backyard poultry flock in Maricopa County. The case confirmed last Friday was the second detected in Arizona this month.

Since it was not a commercial farm, the Department of Agriculture says there is no concern about contaminated eggs getting in the food supply chain.

Rachel Andrews is with the state agency.

“Efforts have been taken place to perform the virus elimination. All applicable sanitation responses have been quickly implemented and our dedicated and experienced team continues to monitor the situation closely," Andrews said.

Andrews says the location is under quarantine.
