A federal judge sentenced a Rio Verde man Tuesday for making online threats to kill or otherwise incite violence against FBI agents and other public officials.

Michael Lee Tomasi will spend just over a year in prison, followed up by three more under supervised release.

Up until last November, investigators say the 38-year-old made social media posts expressing the desire to incite violence or threatening it against a city district attorney, a state court judge, a member of Congress, plus other federal officials and police.

The posts continued for around two and a half years while he lived in both Colorado and Arizona.

Tomasi pleaded guilty earlier this year to posting a threat to shoot first, shoot to kill, and ask questions later when it came to FBI agents. In the post he said to come to his house and "see what happens."
