After Phoenix’s hottest September and October in history, November’s monthly average temperature is on track to be slightly cooler than average.

This summer was Phoenix’s hottest on record and the extreme heat stretched later into fall than ever. Before this year, Phoenix had never recorded a temperature above 110 degrees beyond mid-September. But four days this October got that hot.

Then November brought a major shift, with temperatures dropping below average for most of the month.

But the National Weather Service predicts December, January and February will likely bring above-normal temperatures to most of the state. In Phoenix, the first few days of December are forecast to be about 10 degrees above normal.
