Despite inching closer to the winter season, highs at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport on Friday were 10 degrees above average.

National Weather Service meteorologist Ted Whittock says those above-average highs might stop early this week.

“With a cold front expected to pass over the region maybe in the Monday night-Tuesday morning time frame, we’ll see cooler temperatures for Tuesday and into the middle of [this] week," he said.

Whittock’s forecast calls for highs in the upper 60s, or low 70s, by Tuesday.

Average high temperatures for this time of year are around the mid- to high-60s.
