Arizonans celebrating the holidays in the northern part of the state could see a white Christmas this year.
The National Weather Service says the chances of rain and snow are light going north of the Interstate 40 corridor.
“We do have a storm system moving through northern Arizona that’ll bring a cold front to the state throughout temperatures, maybe 10 to 15 degrees along with a chance of rain and snow showers," said meteorologist Ben Peterson with the National Weather Service based in Flagstaff.
Despite the possibility of the snowy conditions, Petersen forecasts weather will stay warm for Monday and Tuesday. This December has been warmer than normal across the Southwest.
Peterson advises people traveling to pay attention to the forecast.
Here's a potential solution of the rain/high elevation snow showers later today into tomorrow. Although snow accumulation looks to be minimal in/around the Flagstaff area, give yourself a little extra time if you're traveling Christmas morning! #azwx pic.twitter.com/6jpStcN8bU

Looking to air those grievances? Thinking of demonstrating feats of strength by shoveling snow Christmas morning? Well, you probably won't have to do that, but we still think we can deliver a dusting of snow for some of you Christmas morning. Happy Festivus for now. #azwx pic.twitter.com/dZZu02Ttqz
