ADOT expects to hit halfway mark on Kingman interchange project in 2025

The new year will bring welcome improvements for drivers who use the U.S. 93 between the Phoenix area and Las Vegas.

In 2025, the Arizona Department of Transportation will reach the halfway point on a large construction project in Kingman. The new interchange between I-40 and U.S. 93 is supposed to eliminate the need for drivers to stop at a traffic signal and instead use free-flowing ramps.

ADOT spokesman Garin Groff said the department will also begin a new project on the U.S. 93 between Wickenburg and Kingman.

“We will widen the existing roadway from two lanes to a four-lane divided highway," Groff said. "This is part of ADOT’s long-term goal to improve U.S. 93 so that all of it is a four-lane divided highway between Wickenburg and the Nevada state line.”

ADOT has more than 20 current and upcoming projects that will improve at least 130 miles of pavement on the U.S. 93 and I-40.
