Several cities in metro Phoenix are recycling live Christmas trees and wreaths that are free of lights, ornaments and stands.
Phoenix locations (Dec. 26 through Jan. 7):
In Phoenix, residents can drop off natural, untreated trees and wreaths at 14 parks and two waste transfer stations. Trees will be composted.
North Phoenix
- Deer Valley Park - 19th Ave. and Utopia Road.
- Paradise Valley Park - 40th St. south of Union Hills Drive.
- Sereno Park - 56th St. and Sweetwater Avenue
- Cactus Park - 38th Ave. and Cactus Road

Glendale locations (Dec. 26 through Jan. 4)
Glendale will accept trees at six parks and one fire station through Jan. 4. Residents can also leave live trees out for pickup during their regular monthly bulk trash collection. The city says, “The holiday trees are ground and used for landscaping in order to help the environment.”

- Foothills Park, 57th Avenue and Union Hills Drive, during regular park hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily).
- O’Neil Park, 64th and Missouri avenues, during regular park hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily).
- Rose Lane Park, 51st and Marlette avenues, during regular park hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily).
- Sahuaro Ranch Park, southeast corner of 63rd Avenue and Mountain View Road, during regular park hours (6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily), on the west side of the park in the lot closest to the dog park
- Fire Station No. 156, 6801 W. Deer Valley Road, outside anytime.
- Heroes Regional Park Library, 6075 N. 83rd Ave., from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Scottsdale locations (Dec. 27 through Jan. 10)
Scottsdale will have yellow collection bins at five parks and the city’s sports complex through Jan. 10. Residents can also place trees in their green waste pile, separate from bulk trash, during their brush/bulk service week.
