2024 has been record-breaking in the Phoenix area. And as the Valley heads into the new year, expect the unseasonably warm weather to continue.
That’s according to Katherine Berislavich, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
Berislavich says Friday will be a little warmer than Thursday but after that, she says, "Yeah, it looks like the 70s are going to stick around through next week, kind of mid-70s. Not looking like anything is going to come back in and cool us off, back into the 60s, sadly."
Besides warming up, things will also remain dry, she says. Temperatures in December typically hover in the mid-60s.
And if things continue, December could join June, September and October as the hottest months on record.
Above-normal temperatures will persist through this weekend, with many areas seeing afternoon high close to 10 degrees above normal for this time of year by Sunday. It will be a warm, but rather pleasant, end to the holiday week! #azwx #cawx pic.twitter.com/whmJp7b45M
