SRP’s Shade Tree Program is set to return in 2025. Any SRP customers who want to participate can get two free shade trees — if they complete an online workshop.
After completing the workshop, customers can choose two small saplings at a pickup event in March and April.
Tree options include Palo Verdes, Thornless Mesquites and Desert Willows.
Residents who participated already can’t get more trees next year. The program is a partnership between SRP and Trees Matter, which started in 2012.
It is meant to cool homes, improve air quality and reduce energy costs.
