The Town of Gilbert plans to conduct valve testing as part of a sewer rehabilitation project on Monday. While there will be no disruption of water services, the work activity may affect residents’ water in another way.

According to the town, those living in the area between Baseline and Warner roads and Greenfield and McQueen roads may encounter discolored water resulting from the valve shutdown. This is caused by sediment stirring up from water being redistributed to other lines.

Despite the discoloration, the water is disinfected and safe. Water will be cleared of its discoloration as workers use more water and continue to flush lines.

If customers’ water does not clear out after a couple of hours, the town advises to give them a call or report the issue via the Gilbert 311 non-emergency system.
