Law enforcement arrested a man recently who fled after being pulled over for traffic violations. During the pursuit, the man drove with five children in the vehicle.
Near Benson, troopers stopped the vehicle by using spikes. The children ranged in ages from 2 to 15 years old.
Bart Graves is a spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
“Suspect vehicle then took off suddenly at a high rate of speed and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed, we’re talking 112 miles per hour," he said.
The suspect was flown to a Tucson hospital for his non-life threatening injuries. He may face charges related to running and endangering children.
