A child in Pinal County has died of the flu, marking what county officials say is the first pediatric flu death in Arizona this year.
This flu season so far has resulted in about 30,000 cases in the state of Arizona, almost 3,000 of which have been in Pinal County alone.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone older than 6 six months get the flu vaccine, in addition to practicing good hygiene — wash your hands, avoid touching your face, cough and sneeze into your elbow, and stay home if you feel sick.
