This week, the Arizona Department of Transportation began taking public comment on its tentative five-year Construction Program that will launch in 2026.
Nearly a third of the $12.7 billion plan will include highway improvement projects as well as infrastructure maintenance in areas outside of both Maricopa and Pima counties.
The plan also lays out Pima County projects, including widening certain parts of Interstate 10.
Maricopa County is expected to be working in conjunction with the Maricopa Association of Governments using supplemented income from a voter-approved proposition.
Through May 23, Arizonans can review and comment on the plan online or at a public hearing set for mid-May.
