The city of Flagstaff has launched a new community information and engagement platform.

It’s called Connect Flagstaff, and it’s a site where residents can engage with city officials by taking surveys, providing feedback and learning about some of the city’s longer-term projects.

Sarah Langley is the Public Affairs director for the city of Flagstaff.

"So right now we have two different surveys, one on our accessory dwelling unit model plan library, so we're launching like a community choice awards voting to decide which ADU plan you like best," Langley said. "We also have another project that is asking residents in our Southside Neighborhood for some memories that they have of living or growing up in the area and that input will inform a sculpture that's going to be placed in the neighborhood."

Langley said the new platform replaces an older one that was much more limited.

“We really hope to reach more residents than we have previously," Langley said. "This is a totally free and really user friendly platform. It looks really nice. So it’s really a quick and easy way to engage with local government.”

She added that it’s also a way for the city to centralize information about different projects, like flood mitigation or new construction, whereas before there were different sites for each project.
