Law enforcement is ready to crackdown on products with concentrated THC derived from hemp after the state attorney general warned retailers to take them off of shelves.

State law prohibits any THC products from being sold without a dispensary license.

Top local prosecutor Rachel Mitchell spoke at a news conference to oppose legislation that would legalize hemp beverages to be regulated by the state liquor department.

“The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office stands ready to enforce the law as it is right now to hold people accountable, but we are abiding by the 30-day grace period that the attorney general gave,” Mitchell said.

Attorney General Kris Mayes gave retailers an April 24 deadline to discontinue sales.
