Antique jewelry, watches and gold antiquities are going up for sale at this year’s annual unclaimed property auction hosted by the Arizona Department of Revenue.

The online auction, starting Wednesday, compiles items from abandoned safe deposit boxes that have not been claimed by owners for about three years.

Spokeswoman Rebecca Wilder says the proceeds of each sale will be held by the department for their rightful owner to claim.

"There will be an in-person opportunity for members of the public to come and view these items," Wilder said. "That will be held on Friday, April 11, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sierra Auction."

Owners of these safe deposit boxes are able to search for free on the department’s website to see whether or not any of their items have been turned over to ADOR.

In the fiscal year from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, $88 million was returned to rightful owners from unclaimed assets, according to the ADOR.

The auction runs through 5 p.m. Sunday, April 13.
