Construction will close an 11-mile section of State Route 88 for several midweek periods throughout April and May, beginning this Tuesday.

The work involves paving a gravel stretch of the road northeast of the Valley, near the Roosevelt Dam.

Most of the shutdowns will run 48 hours, Tuesday through Thursday — with one 72-hour closure scheduled for late April.

State Route 88 will remain open heading east from the Phoenix area. But ADOT warns that some unpaved sections are limited to high-clearance, 4-wheel-drive vehicles.
