The deadline to get federally compliant identification for domestic flights is a month away.

While past REAL ID deadlines have been pushed back multiple times, Bill Lamoreaux with the Arizona Department of Transportation says this May 7 deadline is likely to stick.

"The important thing for people to remember isn’t May 7 necessarily, it’s two, three weeks before you actually plan to travel. So if you’re not traveling till August of this year, you still have time to come in," Lamoreaux said.

Lamoreaux says other federal identification, like passports and tribal or military cards, will also be accepted by TSA.

REAL IDs will cost $25 and are valid for up to eight years.
