Coverage of aging is supported in part by AARP Arizona
The Alzheimer’s Association in Phoenix recently launched a new, online support group for family caregivers who are deaf or hard of hearing or if they have a loved one who is.
"We did this group in partnership with the Arizona Commission for the Blind and Deaf of Hard of Hearing," said Kinsey McManus, who is with the chapter. "So we have, we have interpreters, we have CART. We have the ability to make sure that there are subtitles and there is accessibility for all."
McManus said the group was created in partnership with the Arizona Commission for the Blind and Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Hearing loss is a risk factor for developing Alzheimer’s disease, McManus noted.
